In answer to a question sent about the flesh tones (14-16) - They are basically white with the basic colour of the mix, i.e. red for pink and ochre for yellow. Then greyed with black and ochre in the pink mix and red in the yellow mix. I try to get them to close together in hue and both at similarly low level in chroma. And same value of course! The ones in that photo on my blog are actually a bit too far apart chromatically probably and a bit too different in value as well.
ReplyDeleteI basically go by the principle that flesh is a grey - either a pinky grey or a yellowy grey or a cool grey.
The cool mix is basically pink with a black so it goes purply (but not too purple) and with a bit of ochre added until it's silvery and cool but slightly pinky as well.
